Priorities?

I just read that the top three Democratic contenders for President of the U.S. have raised more than $60 million for their campaigns. What??!! Isn't there a better use for $60 million? How many hungry people can be fed for $60 million? How many homeless sheltered? How many seniors given housing relief or prescription medication allowances? How many programs to help the marginalized in our society can be run for $60 million? What are we thinking? And this is from the party that is supposed to be social issue focused. I wonder just how much money is going to be spent over the next two years to get a new president elected? Is it really worth it? If we stopped making war, stopped running "Presidential Idol USA", and stoppped subsidizing businesses; just how much good could we do in our country with all that money? How much good could we do in the world?

The American dollar must be worthless if there's so darn much of it out there. Where does all this money come from? (And why don't I have any of it?!) Where are we getting all this money to run a $60M campaign and a $billion+ war? Rhetorical questions. Not trying to get your readers up in arms.

In case you were running out of things to blog about, I'm tagging you for a meme... a bit tedious but also kind of fun.

1. Reveal six weird things about myself on your blog, and
2. Tag six people to do the same.
